Mathematics Homework Book - Level 3

Mathematics Homework Book - Level 3

£29.36

Subject: Mathematics
Level: Secondary
Age Group: 14 - 16
Order Number: 10005

The Mathematics Homework Books provide a comprehensive set of work for mathematics at a full range of ability levels.

The books for Level 2 and Level 3 recap and build on work covered in Year 6 and are ideal for lower ability and special needs pupils to improve on basic mathematical skills and knowledge. Each book contains 40 photocopiable worksheets.

For Level 4, the worksheets could be given as one sheet a week for a year, and would take most 14 year old pupils 20-30 minutes each to complete. They cover most of the National Curriculum areas of Number, Algebra, Space and Data at Level 4. There are reminders and partially completed graphs and tables so that most pupils should be able to tackle most of each sheet.

At Level 5 and Level 6 each sheet starts with a bank of questions which take about 30 minutes to complete, followed by an extended question, part of which is investigational, which will take a further 30 minutes. It is intended that the bank of questions are answered for a first homework, answers are then given and difficulties discussed, and then pupils complete the extended question for the next homework. Extended questions will help prepare pupils for open-ended tasks which they have to complete as part of coursework for GCSE in Years 10 and 11. Most of the National Curriculum areas of Numbers, Algebra, Space and Data at Levels 5 and 6 are covered, with enough for two homework's a week at Year 9. They are also suitable where the extended question could be started in class and completed at home.

Mathematics Homework Books come with full sets of answers.

Make Mine a Million KS3

Make Mine a Million KS3

£46.99

Subject: Mathematics
Level: Secondary
Age Group: 14 - 16
Order Number: 10078

A series of 10 sets of graded Mathematics questions at KS3 based upon the format of the TV quiz 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'.

Successful answers are rewarded with a points, rather than money, total following the style of the TV quiz. Each question has a 50/50 and quit option programmed in. The 'ask the audience' and 'phone a friend' options as used on TV need to be operated by the teacher running the show - flash cards are a suitable method.

In the Linear version the ten sets of questions are available in a random order behind a coloured line of a grid making it an ideal tool for teacher led group revision on an interactive whiteboard or data projector. The sets of questions are repeated three times in different coloured lines.

The different coloured line sets provide a method for steering 'competitors' away from previously used question sets.

The Random version is most suitable for installation on a network for individual student use as each of the 15 levels has 11 randomised questions making in excess of 4.17x1015 different question routes to the one million end point.

The questions are the same in both Linear and Random versions although the Random version has added questions.

This extensively used resource has met with enthusiasm from students and been regarded as an excellent revision tool by staff.

The resource requires no further software and will run on any computer browser.

Once purchased, the CD can be freely copied and networked throughout the school.
