Some units can be taught using texts specified by GCSE syllabi, clearly indicated in the teacher information. The may also be taught separately, using more appropriate texts if necessary.

Each unit has a full set of photocopiable worksheets that are easily accessible to students, with clear instructions allowing an element of independence in their studies.

GCSE Food Technology Coursework Guide

£46.99

Subject: Food Technology
Level: Secondary
Age Group: 14 - 16
Order Number: 4037

This material has been developed to help older students (14 - 16 age range) who are following a Food Technology course to GCSE examination level.

It contains over 40 work sheets and information sheets that are easily accessible.

The resource is structured so that it allows students of lower ability, or bilingual pupils with limited English acquisition, full access to the course, whilst giving higher ability students a basis on which to build and extend their creativity. It is particularly useful when teaching a mixed ability class as it allows students to work independently and at their own level and pace.

The work sheets are sequential and follow the design process from the initial problem or brief through development and industrial processes to the product launch, thus, providing the student with a blueprint to follow.

They provide writing frames and instructions allowing experienced teachers maximum flexibility and teachers new to the subject with clear guidelines to follow.

This format and way of teaching the course is devised and well tested by an experienced teacher and examination moderator and it has been proved to raise examination grades as the students have a clear picture of what they need to do and in what order they need to do it. It helps them to understand the design process and is ideal for the AQA coursework specifications.

The use of ICT is encouraged throughout and specialist programs can be easily incorporated into this flexible medium.
