Bridging the Gap is a resource to help students through the different methods of working between lower school and GCSE level Information and Communications Technology. It is suitable for introducing both full and short course GCSEs at Year 10, as a resource for KS4 ICT, or as work in Year 9 to prepare pupils for KS4. It covers all the essential areas of ICT: word processing, desk top publishing, spreadsheets, databases and mail merge, as well as communicating information, data handling and modelling.
Crucially, Bridging the Gap allows pupils to complete lower school work while beginning to work in a manner that will be needed at KS4, particularly for examination board Set Assignments. The scheme of work is therefore structured like a Set Assignment.
Bridging the Gap contains a photocopiable book, which includes pupil activities, answers and teacher information, as well as a CD containing all the data needed by pupils to complete the activities.
