This resource booklet is designed to provide a reflective approach to students who are experiencing barriers to learning. The materials are designed to look engaging and keep students interested. This supports students who are experiencing issues and who are low ability by providing interesting, simple, short and sharp tasks. This booklet will help schools provide inclusive support and remove barriers to learning by giving students a reflective look on some of the issues that they may be experiencing within their life.
The resource focuses on three target areas that are designed to provide support to students experiencing the issues. These areas are Anger Management, Classroom Skills and Bullying/Cyber Bullying’. The resource can be used by any staff in education particularly; pastoral staff, mentors, behaviour workers, and learning support teachers. Staff working with students on an individual 1 to 1 basis may utilise the resource to its potential in a safe and controlled environment.
Anger Management – To give students an understanding of anger and ideas of strategies they can use. It also allows them to reflect on their difficulties and any issues they have had in the past.
Classroom Skills – Designed for students not doing well in class and who may be at risk of exclusion. This section allows students to understand how their behaviour affects others and what they need to do to put things right. It also looks at how they should behave and the consequences of poor behaviour.
Bullying/Cyber Bullying – The bullying programme in the book gives students an understanding of both the bully and the victim and how they are affected. It shows students what bullying is and the consequences of bullying. It also includes sessions on cyber bullying.
Once purchased the CD can be freely copied and networked throughout the school.
