Class Records CD-ROM has been developed to assist teachers in their day to day tasks of planning, assessing and reporting. As teachers are being asked more and more to identify students who are gifted and talented or who need extra support, mentoring etc. In recent times we are also being advised that, when 'marking' students' work, we should try to resist the temptations of giving 'marks out of'. A mark out of 10, for example, gives little indication of the effort put in to the work and/or the difficulty of the work. Students appear to respond better if they are given a written/verbal comment along with a grade for the effort they have given to their work.

Class Records CD-ROM allows the teacher to record grades in mark-book form. It also instantly assists the class teacher when trying to analyse students' efforts given to particular tasks, against the class as a whole. It gives clear evidence of progress or slippage and makes report writing more informed. Because an EXCEL file is used, it can be tailored to your particular needs. It contains some simple macros; one to sort the mark sheet into name order, one to sort the sheet into rank order and one to print the sheet.
