Creationism is a new resource designed to help students follow issues in the contemporary debate about creation and evolution. This is geared to modules about Science and religion in all exam boards and will be relevant to questions of Design, scientific worldviews and the existence of God.

The resource offers a guide to the debate the students will find very useful.

The six lessons cover such topics as:

1. An introduction to controversies about teaching creation and intelligent design in schools
2. Origins- a summary of the evolution and big bang cosmology that dominates modern scientific thinking
3. Genesis One- the battleground and field of scholarly debate
4. Complexity and intelligent design: a rough guide to some issues (does complexity require intelligent design; can the simple generate the more complex; is evolution completely random and the fossil record)
5. A key issue- the age of the Earth (if the Earth is as old as science suggests, the is door automatically opened to slow processes)
6. Understanding Creation in a different way- do slow processes rule out creation? Creating a garden, a piece of art or writing, building a house or cooking a meal are all forms of creation that require periods of time.

The perspective of the course is that there are different ways of seeing the world and interpreting scientific evidence without becoming perplexed or polarized!
