Organic reaction mechanisms are very important In Organic Chemistry.

• They can be used as tools to work out whether a reaction will happen

Most students find them very difficult to remember. The principles in this book are designed to make organic mechanisms easier to understand and to commit to memory. The first half of the book gives all the reactions that are needed for A-level Chemistry and includes a commentary to explain what is shown on the diagrams. The second half gives the students the opportunity to test their memories and understanding. All the reactants, intermediaries and products are shown, but no lone pairs of electrons, dipoles or charges. Students can draw the latter onto the diagrams and then compare them to the original.
