Pack L2 - Early Victorian Britain
This pack covers the reign of Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1851. This deals with the Royal Family, the political events of these years, the Chartist movement, social reform (especially in the mines), the Irish famine and the crisis caused by the repeal of the Corn Laws. The period ends with the Great Exhibition at the Crystal Palace in 1851. For developments in railways and ships during this period see pack K3 and for the growth of the British Empire see pack M1.
