This resource is not intended to replace good planning. The ideas in these pages bounce all over the place and are meant for use when you are really stuck for something to do. You may be confronted by an alien class because someone else has fallen ill or gone to the cup final, or your own group may surprise you one day and completely finish everything you have planned for them. You might simply mistake the time and finish early, or you may need short tasks to occupy some of the faster workers whilst you concentrate on the rest of the class. You might even be stuck for a homework task. Whatever the reason, this booklet is designed to help you out.

The sheets are self-explanatory and may be freely photocopied. Some of the sheets have answers supplied, usually upside down and at the bottom of the page so that you can mask them out on a photocopier if you so wish. Some are pure fun lessons and some are a little more serious, but they can be all linked to the National Curriculum. Several require your active participation, but you can get involved in all of them if you want to keep a good grip on the class. The lessons that require marking can be marked around the class.
