These important new resources are a series of accessible performance pieces for examinations, with suggested levels of difficulty for each individual part, according to the guidelines issued by Edexel GCSE in Music (1426) for the first examinations in 2003.
These publications are possibly the first ever for GCSE where levels are suggested for each and every part in a piece.
Ensemble for Exams is a package of twelve easier level pieces for use as classroom ensemble and/or solo work, and detailed teaching approaches to each piece are given. Some of the pieces have piano accompaniments, while some have parts in B flat, and most parts may be played on any of a variety of suitable instruments.
As a follow up to the twelve easier level pieces, Ensemble for Exams 2 is a set of six multi-level performance pieces, with parts ranging from easier level to standard level and more difficult level.
