The Essay Skills (flashcards) will enable teachers to facilitate their students learning and development though individual or group playing which can be used to aid in the learning and remembering of the structure and content of essays.

The basics are given for the Essay Skills (flashcards) based on Antigone by Sophocles as a text, but sections have been provided so that teachers may use alternative text within the format. They can work individually or in groups depending upon class sizes etc. Aids accuracy, agility and adds a dimension of fun to learning.

Since my pupils began using this resource in class to aid with essay structure skills I have witnessed a vast improvement in the accuracy, agility and willingness to use the knowledge that they currently have of the content of the essay and being able to put it into a clear and defined structure. The Essay Skills (flashcards) is easily accessible for all levels of pupils and will aid in students literacy levels as they will have to read, discuss and form their own opinions. Their oral levels will increase as they will have to discuss more detailed analysis of the text looking at structure to enable them to develop their written answers.
