Online Catalogue | Secondary 14 - 16 | Information & Communication Technology | Excel 2000 Workbook CD ROM
Subject: Information & Communication TechnologyLevel: SecondaryAge Group: 14 - 16Order Number: 8020
This section assumes very little previous knowledge of Excel. It starts from the basic concepts of spreadsheets, workbooks and mathematical functions, then goes on to discuss chart (or graph) creation in detail and has a short section on the use of Excel as a database. The steps to each process are carefully laid out in a logical sequence with plenty of screen captures to guide the student along the right path. The text is interspersed with back up exercises, but the more difficult problems are found at the end of each section.
The problems and the section containing tests take into account the IT skills requirements for senior secondary students, particularly those studying mathematics and sciences as laid out in the Curriculum 2000 syllabuses. This emphasises that effective data presentation using computer software is an increasingly necessary skill in today's world. It is also suitable for anybody interested in using Excel for more effective data management.
The spreadsheets and graphs and the data for the tests are provided as Excel files. These can be printed as desired or given to the students electronically after suitable editing as the starting point for the exercises in order to avoid unnecessary data copying.
