Food Technology is a specialised practical subject. Food Technology Cover and Lesson Plans I and II have been developed to provide Departments with easy to use and stand alone lesson plans, which would be useful, when cover work is required. This comprehensive material has been developed to accommodate unforeseen and urgent situations.
The second set of lesson plans have been compiled with different class and extension work to cater for gifted, talented and able students (GTA), who might otherwise be forgotten in other teaching resources. The work formulated for the GTA students requires them to undertake in depth research to analyse, evaluate and use information effectively.
The teaching material could also form part of existing schemes of work for 11-16 year olds to help them prepare and organise their time effectively before completing a practical application; this could be an added bonus for fully qualified Food Technology teachers.
Each project has a full set of worksheets that give clear instructions to staff as to how to administer the material, together with discussion points and a list of the resources required. The students' worksheets set out the brief/topic together with a format showing how this is to be achieved successfully. All the sheets contained in these projects are based on Food Technology topics and are relevant to current education policies.
