This material has been developed to enable food technology pupil's aged 11 - 15 to follow the design process in a simple and enjoyable step-by-step way. It aims to provide interesting, well differentiated and illustrated materials allowing pupils of different abilities to be autonomous and solve problems individually and in teams.
This resource pack aims to make teaching and learning Food Technology easier, using clear and simple explanations and examples to increase pupils' confidence in designing and making food products.
A bank of differentiated photocopiable worksheets is included to make it easier for pupils to access the curriculum at different levels. This resource pack will serve as a useful guide and tool to help teachers fulfil the National Curriculum requirements.
It is designed so that pupils can build on their levels and work effectively according to their abilities, for instance if the whole class is expected to work on planning production, while some pupils are still doing the flowchart, the more able ones will be able to progress to systems and control. The use of ICT is encouraged throughout the process especially where access to computers is not a problem.
The resource pack addresses the basic concepts of the design process and can be used by other pupils studying food technology in the older age groups.
