This pack consists of a collection of authentic and up-to-date news reports all with a sporting theme including football, rugby, cycling and tennis, designed to encourage independent reading and the development of more accurate writing. Teachers will want to present the materials as either homework or time examination practice pieces. The rubrics for all exercises are in French and the exercises themselves have been designed with the new GCSE format in mind and will be of particular value to higher tier candidates.

Solutions to all exercises are included leading to ease of marking by the pupils themselves, leaving the teacher free to record marks and progress and to develop new strategies for their pupils' further progress and development.
