This GCSE Biology resource pack aims to provide a route through the teaching of the newly revised Life Processes National Curriculum. It provides ideas for how to teach certain topics on a lesson by lesson basis. Sections are designed to be followed in the order given to aid the pupils' cognitive progress through the course. The pack can easily be used in its entirety or for the occasional lesson. This resource would greatly benefit non-specialists and those teaching a topic for the first time.

Each section begins with a list of outline lesson plans. They include ideas for what could be included in each lesson and a suggested order in which to teach them. In addition to the outline lesson plans are the resources needed to carry out the activities. The practical activities that are suggested contain the relevant health and safety warnings. Guidelines for practical work change all the time and it is advisable to check them prior to completing the practical work.

The teaching ideas have been tried and tested. They provide a wide range of activities to stimulate the pupils' interest and challenge their thinking. There are many ideas that are aimed to stimulate high achievers along with other pupils.
