This resource is a collection of material which supports GCSE English. Although mainly useful in the areas of argumentative/persuasive writing and fiction, it also helps when analysing newspaper articles, comparing tabloid and broadsheet newspapers, exploring junk mail, writing film reviews and analysing non-fiction texts. It offers help for coursework, classwork and examinations. 'How to do it' sheets, discussion essays (with questions) and student writing (to provide a model for comparison) are all included, but not in each area. It is a resource for a teacher to dip into and use when appropriate.
The material is designed to be used by specific groups; foundation and higher sets, gifted, less able, male, female and older students all have access to at least some of the items. It is worth noting that some of the material has strong links with parts of the PSHE and Citizenship guidelines.
