Since Web Page design is part of the Key Stage 3 ICT strategy (Unit 8.2), and with the recently released level 5 Descriptors stating that the structure of a web page should be investigated, the knowledge and understanding of HTML coding has now become essential.

The author has always taught web page design through the medium of HTML and found that the knowledge of what goes on 'behind the scene' greatly enhances the understanding of the alternative programmes.

This resource will:

• Give advice on what preparation might be needed prior to teaching.
• Explore the concepts of programming before a lesson.
• Be suitable for whole class, group and individual teaching.
• Aid lesson planning and preparation.
• Provide differentiated activities so that support can be given to less able or more advanced pupils.
• Provide photocopiable worksheets to reinforce what has been learnt, progress record sheets, answers for all tasks and a glossary.
• Provide a series of progressive tasks exploring aspects of HTML.

Once purchased, the CD can be freely copied and networked throughout the school.
