This essential collection of History Crosswords brings you 32 freeform puzzles. Crosswords are an ideal way of testing vocabulary and subject related knowledge, or reinforcing existing knowledge. They can be used as extension tasks, homework, odd moment fillers or in any other way that you fancy. This collection contains thirty-two crosswords constructed around different periods in history. Some of the crosswords have wordbanks provided somewhere on the page. Every puzzle has a title to give you an idea of what it contains. There is also a blank grid to create your own free form crossword.

Every page is clearly laid out with the crossword near to the top of the page and the clues, (or space to write them), underneath. The puzzles are of varying difficulty; some have no clues, only a wordbank of answers, and some have clues and a wordbank, and some are 'clues only'. Some of the wordbanks contain both correct and incorrect answers, (for the student to figure out), designed to be used as an aid when they need more help than the clues provide. And to make life a little easier, solutions to all the puzzles are provided at the end of the booklet.

Each page stands alone and can be easily photocopied. As stand alone tasks a puzzle can be completed at one sitting or used to fill gaps over a period of time.
