A set of Geography alphabet copying masters for specialist Geography rooms, designed to contribute to the literacy impact of the environment and add visual stimulus by displaying essential vocabulary in an attractive and easily absorbed format. The alphabet supports developing literacy skills for ages 8 to 16 by matching vocabulary with appropriate graphics for easier interpretation of words. A complete alphabet is usually placed in order around the room to aid alphabetic sequencing and to act as visual aids for the teacher, but they could also be used as flash cards. The complete set consists of forty-two black and white A4 masters with clear line drawings. The extra letter posters above twenty-six give alternative words for some letters in order to allow the display to be tailored to the age group or teaching topic. Each letter poster is designed for copying and then hand colouring by pupils to increase their sense of ownership of the words before laminating or mounting on card for display. Alternatively, posters can be put into A4 plastic folders fixed to notice boards to make them easy to change and keep children's attention on them from one lesson to the next. The specially designed Sassoon font is used throughout to support and link to handwriting development for younger pupils and to maintain clarity.

This photocopiable book is an ideal introduction to studying History. It provides a self-contained unit designed as an introduction to evidence skills for Year 7. The book is based on the Roswell Mystery, an alleged UFO crash in America in 1947, and will appeal to a generation brought up on the X-Files. Students are presented with a range of eye witness accounts, secondary sources and evidence of dubious provenance which they are then required to interrogate, cross-reference and draw conclusions from. The work will generate enthusiasm for History among students and encourage them to become involved with the subject. The book also contains teacher information, suggestions for computer work and homework activities.

The Roswell Mystery book is now also available with a 90 minute video, Area 51, from leading documentary film producers DD Video. The video includes footage of alleged alien space craft, interviews with eye-witnesses and allegations of government cover-ups which will provide plenty of sources to evaluate and talking points to widen pupils' evidence analysis skills. It will also provide an opportunity to compare students' reactions to written and film sources.

The Borley Mystery is the latest in the History X-File series. It is designed as a self-contained unit and could be delivered after the First World War has been taught, connecting the mystery to the spiritual vacuum that occurred after the war.

Students are presented with a range of 14 different sources, both primary and secondary, and are asked to cross examine their validity and draw their own conclusions as to the existence of ghosts. The Borley Mystery is accessible to all ability levels and contains 14 photocopiable pages, plus teachers' pages which include a mark scheme. There is also a web site to assist pupils in their quest.
