This resource is tailored to the GCSE in Applied Business. It contains a range of interactive materials designed to test pupils' knowledge of the various topic areas and also to help practice the skills required for the final examination.
The topic areas covered are:
- The flow of financial documents
- Break even analysis
- Cash flow forecasts
- Methods of payment
- The functional areas of a business
- Budgeting
- Sources of finance
These activities can be produced as paper-based worksheets or can be used as interactive resources for individual, pair or whole class activities. The 'pub quiz' activity covers a variety of topic areas and is most suited to whole class activity, where the class may be divided into groups and can discuss and record their answers as each slide is displayed.
The 'matching up payments' exercise can also be cut out into matching up cards and used as an even more interactive resource where pupils can match each method to the description. They can also be asked to describe which card they have to their partner and see if their partner can guess which card it matches.
This resource is flexible and provides teachers with up-to-date and relevant examples that students will enjoy, as well as being closely related to the exam specification for the Applied GCSE.
