This material has been developed to help students following the National Literacy strategy. The material is well structured to enable support for students of lower ability. It aims to provide material that is lively and easy for teachers, pupils and teaching assistants to follow. The material can be used in one-to-one work, small group work or with a whole class.

The resource allows teachers to introduce Shakespeare to pupils who may struggle to grasp some of the terms and concepts of English Literary Heritage.

The uses of ICT and library skills are encouraged to be used with these resources.

The material could be used in any age range in Key Stage 3 as a brief introduction to Shakespeare whether you are planning to focus on sonnets or Shakespeare's plays. The resources may be a useful tool to use prior to SATs.
