These worksheets are designed for students with Special Educational Needs with mild to moderate learning difficulties, aged 11 to 12.

At this age pupils will be investigating and discussing religion and learning about at least two religions other than Christianity. The worksheets in this pack are designed to give a sound basic knowledge of Islam, and would be an ideal choice for inclusion as one of the required religions to be learned in secondary schools. These sheets may also be suitable for students of other ages with SEN requirements.

Each unit is photocopiable and set out clearly using the Comic Sans MS font. Worksheets using this font are preferable as SEN students struggle with unclear fonts.

Each unit starts with a topic information worksheet which should be read to the students by the teacher or perhaps shared reading by pupils. In this worksheet there are complicated words that could not be differentiated but are necessary for the topic.

Each unit contains fun, educational worksheets that SEN pupils should enjoy completing. For example, each unit contains a crossword and a word search. These worksheets in particular help reinforce learning, while improving literacy. There are also colouring activities for the students to do. All of the units follow the same design, as consistency is very important to pupils, SEN pupils in particular. There is an answer pack provided with each unit.

No additional resources are required and space is provided for the pupils to enter their answers where appropriate. The worksheets can be used for whole class teaching or for one-to-one sessions with a teacher or SEN learning support assistant.
