This pack of 50 language based activities is for use in maths at ages 10-14.The activities are unique, varied and fun, whilst being instructive and informative. Literacy is an important area of the maths curriculum and these resources address this in a highly effective way. The activities stand on their own as worksheets for the class to complete, or can be transferred to acetate with the teacher leading. They can also be set as pair and group work and are easily adaptable to games or cutting and sticking activities. The resource looks at the vocabulary of maths and examines language use in a wider context. The activities include matching, opposites and synonyms, anagrams, breaking words up into components and making new words, categorising, filling in the blanks and topic specific word searches.
