This material has been developed to help all students who wish to learn how to use spreadsheets. It aims to provide structured and interesting material to engage students of all ages and abilities. The material is, therefore, aimed to be fully inclusive. Elements of the course can be taught alongside KS4 and 5 schemes of work. The material would also be useful at KS3 to prepare students for end of key stage ICT examinations. The material would also suit adults who wish to work independently, and would provide a good preparation for the Microsoft Office Excel 2000 - 2003 examinations.
The pack is divided into three main sections: Initial tasks to develop basic skills; exercises to consolidate learning and develop further skills and advanced spreadsheets. Teachers, therefore, will have maximum flexibility in terms of determining which tasks to adopt and offer to students.
Each section has a full set of fully photocopiable resources. Some tasks are instructional; others are exercises for students to complete. No additional resources are required as the pack contains all the data needed for each task.
Software: the materials were prepared using Microsoft Excel (2003), although they would work as well with Excel XP.
