Quick Spell is a resource devised for all teachers involved in the teaching of Spelling. The 160 pages contain extensive lists of CVC’s, consonant blends, split diagraphs, vowel phonemes, silent letters, prefixes, suffixes and other helpful materials. It is intended for use with all ability levels at any stage. The resource has ten sections:

Each phoneme is divided, where possible, into groups of increasing difficulty so teachers can make appropriate selections for their pupils. In the easier groups, words are arranged in letter strings, e.g. ‘or’, ‘orch’, ‘ord’, ‘ork’, etc. maximising the rhyming aspect. Learning to spell is difficult and can be more difficult to teach when there seems to be exceptions to every rule. Having lots of examples to use when learning to spell increases confidence and therefore improves the skill that is so essential to Literacy.
