These resources are in full colour and address the important issues raised when delivering lessons on some of the major religions in the classroom.

The transparencies have been produced by experienced teachers and actually work in the real classroom with real children. Each slide can be seen as a peg on which to hang an individual lesson, so teachers are not constrained by any particular style, but are simply afforded a colourful and interesting structure on which to base a particular lesson.

Some transparencies contain suggestions for work, but teachers can adapt these tasks, or ignore them, depending on their preference. The transparencies have been created with students in mind, so that pictures can easily be reproduced as diagrams for their files or books. The overheads can also be photocopied and given out to less advanced classes as a record of the work covered in lessons.

The transparencies can be used by experienced and non-specialist teachers alike, and can even form the basis of an emergency cover lesson. Finally, OFSTED always favours lessons where audio-visual resources are employed as against mere 'chalk and talk', so these resources can be useful when the inspection teams arrive. There are five packs in the series looking at Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism.

Hinduism: includes slides on Buddhist sects, the noble eightfold path, the life of the Buddha, Dharma and the many paths of Buddhism. The Sikhism slides feature Guru Nanak's life and teachings, a history of the Sikh gurus, problems for Sikhs in Britain and the Khalsa brotherhood.
