Science Crosswords and Wordsearches

The aim of Science Crosswords and Wordsearches is to provide material for Science teachers including non-specialist teachers of Science in lower school to use either as homework sheets or as revision exercises in the classroom. The photocopiable activities can be used to reinforce topics which have already been covered, or they can form the basis of research.

All activities are copyright free and many are differentiated so that they can be attempted by pupils of any level. Pupils enjoy crosswords and wordsearches and are often unaware that these are actually still learning exercises. The wordsearches can be set as they are or pupils could be asked to extend these by writing definitions for the words they have to find. Many wordsearches include SEN sheets. The crosswords have a teacher's answer grid so no work is required on the part of the teacher. As an alternative, teachers might like to give the answer grid to pupils and ask them to write their own clues.
