This Sikhism resource has been written to use with special need pupils in mainstream school. It is intended that the resource is used for secondary schools where pupils are working at a below average level, level 2 in some cases, and could also be used as a differentiated resource where there are pupils in a mixed ability classes.

The simple texts and activities are designed for a minimum requirement of written work that would suit less able pupils, and there is plenty of opportunity to illustrate or use pictures instead of written answers. There is an amount of reading to be done but this could be done with adult supervision, or within a small group of less able pupils. The font used is that which will help the less able reader.

It is intended that the majority of the activities could be completed with a minimum input from adults to create independent study. Some of the worksheets could be used for homework tasks again with the intention that they could be completed independently.

The differentiated assessments at the back of the resource enable even a very low ability pupil to have the change of a good score by using the multiple choice assessment - thus creating a sense of achievement.
