This pack consists of materials to support the teaching of High Frequency Words, Time Words and the Months of the Year Rhyme. It is intended for use with Special Needs pupils aged 7-14.

The High Frequency Words materials are based on some of the words which occur most frequently in text experienced by beginning and developing readers, and those developing the early skills of spelling and writing in and out of context. To support work with pupils there are 24 sheets, suitable for display on classroom walls, as well as a set of these words laid out to be copied as spelling cards.

Also provided are the time words from the National Numeracy Strategy Framework, with spelling, reading, and sequencing sheets. A copy of the Months of the Year Rhyme is provided for display, sequencing or memorisation games.

Covering a number of important areas of the Literacy and Numeracy development, this resource offers a useful bank of materials to meet individual needs and to supplement intervention strategies for weaker pupils. To support the teacher or Learning Support Assistant assessment and progress monitoring sheets are included as part of the package.
