Do you find there is a lack of suitable resources available in the textbook used in class? Are you looking for materials, which can be incorporated, easily into your lessons to support your teaching?
This resource offers a selection of tasks for learners needing reinforcement of basic vocabulary and structures, for those experiencing difficulties with the written form of the language, or those pupils extracted from the class to work in smaller groups. Where appropriate, extension tasks are given on the page for pupils finishing early. The tasks can be used in conjunction with existing resources, and there is a key vocabulary for each topic on each page.
The resource works by covering the main topics taught in the first 2-3 years of learning German. Each topic has tasks built around a core vocabulary, with activities, which practice and consolidate new language.
The teacher has the flexibility to choose how and when this resource can be employed most effectively. For example, if the alphabet is being taught, the phonetic spellings can be used at the start of the lesson for presentation, and written practice on the following page could be set to complete in class, or as homework. Giving each pupil a copy of the vocabulary sheet reinforces language, and could be used as a learning task in addition. All pages of the resource can be used with an OHP, or could be incorporated into an interactive whiteboard presentation.
