This resource on the topic of leisure is intended mainly for students in their earlier years of learning French, although there are harder elements suitable for more experienced learners (up to GCSE level). The material is lively and varied, much visually appealing, aimed primarily at practising communication skills. It falls into 3 main categories:

1. items for teacher use on the OHP or laptop, intended largely for oral work; these include colourful visual representations of the key vocabulary, at different levels of difficulty, each with a separate written version that may or may not be added – e.g. as an “overlay” on the OHP – together with various stimuli for the use of language in realistic, everyday situations such as making arrangements to go out
2. attractive and stimulating worksheets which enable students to consolidate the work led by the teacher in various ways: pairwork to afford further speaking and listening practice, and individual reading and writing tasks to be completed either in class or at home, some of which relate to the student’s own experience
3. puzzles to practise vocabulary and spelling whilst at the same time adding an important element of fun.

Simple use of 3 time-frames is included: the present, the future (using aller) and the past (Passé composé). There is also the frequent opportunity to express opinions.

Topics covered are sport, other leisure activities, musical instruments, TV, cinema, reading and arranging to go out.

Once purchased, the CD can be freely copied and networked throughout the school.
