The Assembly Year 2 follows on from its successful predecessor. These forty sheets are designed to provide a format for collective worship within your school. The themes can be used both by assembly leaders and by form tutors. Tutors particularly can use these as the basis for discussion and extension work within form time.
Each sheet contains up to two inspiring or thought provoking stories. Alongside this is a quote for the week, a Bible reading, a fascinating fact and five topics for personal daily reflection. There is also a list of special days within that week which can be discussed.
The sheets can be duplicated and handed out to students to provide a basis for independent or peer learning. They can also be used as icebreaker activities. The topics cross over many different themes from people, to places, to events. There is a definite link with PSHE and Citizenship in most of the topics covered.
Form time can be dead time; this resource can provide the inspiration for display work, quizzes and further research. This can break up the monotony of admin or bored students during the most crucial part of the day. This resource gets the students into an academic frame of mind before the first lesson.
