The Environment Pack examines a variety of environmental issues facing society today.

It aims to:

• Give students a clear understanding of the main issues
• Allow students to examine what role they can play in addressing these issues

The pack consists of introductory exercises which lead on to the five main themes:

• Water
• Waste
• Traffic
• Energy
• Where I Live

Each theme starts with background sheets outlining the issues and providing relevant facts and figures. Student sheets then encourage the pupils to take an enquiring approach, suggesting key questions, outlining the kind of data collection that can be carried out and providing a direction that can be taken.

The pack allows pupils of different abilities to approach the issues at their own levels and is useful for differentiated activities. It also provides open-ended tasks for higher ability students.
