The Mini Concert is a photocopiable guide for teachers and provides the educational rationale behind the concert and shows how this approach relates to primary liaison, extension work, consultation evenings, appraisal and assessment. It is a flexible framework within which schools are able to choose their own selection of music.

The Mini Concert may be used as a scheme to fill a six-week half term, with 10 preparation lessons, a dress rehearsal and a concert lesson. It allows for differentiation of work, with students feeling pride in their performance at whatever level. The emphasis on performance in this resource may also increase the demand for Key Stage 4 Music.
