This resource provides accessible, whiteboard friendly or worksheets covering each scene of The Tempest. With a minimum of 5 worksheets per scene, most providing enough material for a one hour lesson and broken down into bitesize chunks, they will stimulate even the most reluctant learner and provide an impetus for further study for the more motivated.

In line with changes in requirements for GCSE and a greater emphasis on the need for formal English, contextualised grammar exercises are included in the worksheets. Intended to support advanced bilingual students (English National Curriculum Level 3 upward) teachers will find that this will support all their students.

Each scene has a set of 'stand alone' worksheets under the following headings: Themes, Action, Setting, Character and Language, the initial letters building into the acronym TASCL providing a useful aide memoir for examination purposes.

Throughout the resource questions are used to stimulate discussion, as this is particularly useful for bilingual pupils as it builds confidence by encouraging them to extend their vocabulary and develop ideas in English before they write. A selection of generic worksheets is given at the end of this resource as well as some ideas for questions that could be set in the SATs tests.

Most of all, it is hoped that through this approach pupils will gain confidence in their study of the text and through their use of the questioning style will become independent learners.
