This resource is intended for teachers and lecturers involved with post 16 further and higher education to set up Excel based student assessment schemes.

Section I deals with formulae and functions and contains simple revision exercises.

Section II contains more complex exercises to further develop the necessary skills.

Section III describes how to set up an Excel based system to assess a sample science course. Further exercises describe an assessment of a titration exercise and how to generate a report.

The actual spreadsheets and graphs used are shown within the text as Word files and also provided as Excel files that can be copied directly and adapted for personal use or used as a guide to create similar files from first principles.
