‘Winning with Words – The Present’ offers an exciting and relevant range of straightforward grammar and vocabulary exercises to support the teaching and learning of early stage EAL learners, especially for those older students who arrive in school during their teenage years. As well as having a place in the mainstream classroom, ‘Winning with Words’ is an ideal pack for teaching assistants to use as support material with small groups of students. These activities have been developed to ensure that they present students with opportunities to explore real life situations while they acquire a range of grammar and vocabulary that they will be able to use immediately in school and with their friends.
