This resource has been written to use in Mathematics classrooms, usually with pupils aged 11-14.

Working Towards Coursework contains materials based on patterns relating to:

• Algebra (Number and Algebra Attainment Target)
• Probability in the Handling Data Attainment Targets

The material is suitable for a broad spread of abilities, with guidance provided on some of the sheets as to the target level and skills drawing from level three to level ten work.

A series of investigations are provided, and begin from entry level approaches through to the level of work on symbolic notation which is required from pupils aged 14 to 16. Skills on Handling Data are provided to begin to train pupils in the sorts of presentation and data analysis skills that are required at examination level and in coursework.
